I'm shamelessly copying this idea for the thread from another car forum.

Reading this thread may help other members (new or old) remember to do some simple but forgotten maintenance, or inspire them to accomplish that long desired mod, or simply learn something new about their Insight.

- Changed oil with Peak full synthetic oil.

- Changed cabin filter. It's helpful to clean leaf and other debris from the filter box with vacuum or air pressure.

- Replaced spark plugs. OF COURSE I had "A" plugs in there instead of the required "B" plugs. (Don't forget to use anti-seize compound on the new plug threads.)
did you notice a big difference from changing the plugs? I believe mine have around 120k on them, considering changing. currently seeing 55mpg adverage.

Bought a cargo net from Hyundai dealer for a 2019-2022 Veloster for $9, it comes with the net and 4 D rings, I got the rear ones to work but fronts I think I’ll either attach to the rearmost Torx bolt on battery cover or get some bungees and attach to front. I'm using a cargo tray from a 2019-2022 Insight/Civic, so I'll have to get creative in getting around it to mount the forward most clips.

Added a 3D printed 4x20 enclosure from a forum member. The glare is screen protector film (from manufacturer) substantially exaggerated by the uber bright phone flash.

I will apply the supplied high/low voltage warning sticker.

Tire rotation. Honda style, front straight back to rear, rear crossed and put to front.

I would have done it with the oil change at 225,000 but my O.G. 49-year-old floor jack is leaking down internally.

I recently got a new HF floor jack on sale, so with two floor jacks I can once again rotate tires.

The old floor jack deserves fixing; there are simply not that many "cycles" on it... one day?

This is smart, I'm going to do this the next sunny day we get here. I also have a headlamp renew kit that I need to use.
I found putting Rain-X on the back window helped with snow and ice removal, if you have to deal with such things.

I was thinking the same thing - that the jack is worth fixing. They made things sturdy back then. As noted by it lasting 49 years.

you know, that's my line of thinking as well but I was unable to find anyone who either could or would replace my snap-on branded cherry-picker jack/pump. (It's probably older than I am).
Instead, I have a harbor freight special in its place :cautious:

I changed my spark plugs, ill have to re-attempt to "index them more precise" I dont think I did it right, and I used the NGK 4669's plugs, the "B" spark plugs were no where to be bought in my town. so I settled on the NGK's 4669's. they are rated to last 50-60K miles instead of the "B" plugs which are rated to 100K. I think that's only difference between the plugs, they are damn near identical to each other side by side. and I got my NGK's 4669's from autozone directly. so I can be sure they are OEM NGK's and not knock-offs. anyways, about to replace my headlights bulbs soon, (right when I got done with the spark plugs, I turned on the headlights and turned out "headlight" turned on. so I waiting for the silverstars to come in. how funny, yes the motor is running good after the spark plug install, turns on headlight sigh*** thats how this is going to go on this car, one thing for another. but still pullin 60+ mps ave. happy MPG hunting gang. PS my friend who is into insights ripped me a new asshole for NOT getting the "B" plugs. I dont think once I index more properly, I dont think there's an issue? what do yall think?

Changed the oil today, first time working on it in a minute! Feels great though :) hopefully doing more on it this week, but I also need to do brakes on our Pilot and my wife’s accord is making all kinds of terrible groaning sounds, so I’d feel bad having fun with the insight while my wife’s car literally screams in agony haha. Soon enough tho!
